WHAT IS THE AUTHORIZED
COURT TRANSCRIPTIONIST ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO? 9The Authorized Court Transcriptionist Association of Ontario (ACTAO) is an association of court transcriptionists who are authorized by the Ministry of the Attorney General to produce certified transcripts of Ontario court proceedings, bringing their specialized skill of verbatim transcription to the judicial system.
The Association was officially founded in 2019. Prior to 2019, many ACTs worked, by voluntering, to build this Association. We facilitate a mentoring program where newly authorized transcriptionists are matched with experienced transcriptionists who will provide quality mentoring and support. We are planning workshops for our members including an annual Authorized Court Transcriptionist Association of Ontario Conference. Members of the Authorized Court Transcriptionist Association of Ontario (ACTAO) maintain and guard the integrity of the court record. |
